This is the first book in a new series, Investigating Worldviews. It reflects the current interest in a worldviews approach, emphasising lived experience, contexts, and the relationship between individual and organised worldviews. The series will weave together ways of engaging with the substantive content, in relation to the personal worldviews of students.

Description

The first volume in the series, this book explores the diversity of Jewish worldviews by offering clear substantive content about Rosh Hashanah, the social justice focused Mitzvah Day, some key Jewish artefacts, Adon Olam – a liturgical poem popular in Judaism, and the celebration of Shabbat.

In each section we make it clear what vocabulary pupils will be encountering and learning, as well as the essential knowledge they will gain in the unit. Prior learning and next steps are identified to ensure knowledge and understanding is built up over time. There is also a background knowledge section to

support the teacher with their own subject knowledge. For each section there are links to the Welsh RVE and Scottish RME curriculum.

Each unit has a PowerPoint available for NATRE members to use when teaching. On our website we have also listed key links to other digital resources.
